Client Spotlight: Mortgage Brokerage
Since 2011, we have closed 12 loans totaling $302MM for one of our biggest clients. We are working on two more loans for this client, totaling an additional $83MM. Once these loans close, our client’s total volume with us will be $385MM.
This kind of relationship would not have developed if we were simply a transactional brokerage. Over the years, we have helped our client secure agency and conventional loans to build, purchase, and refinance multifamily properties.
We have helped substantially increase their net worth by guiding them through the complex world of commercial lending, providing access to liquidity, and unlocking trapped equity.
Early in 2022, we helped our client realize $10MM in equity by refinancing out of a HUD-backed construction and rehabilitation loan (221D4) and into a long-term (35-year) HUD loan program (223F). Working with HUD loans can be very challenging for all parties involved. We were able to leverage our experience and relationships in the market to get this loan to the closing table with minimal issues.
In another instance, our client was in jeopardy of losing a deal when a lender backed out late in the purchase process. We leveraged our long-standing relationship with one of our preferred lenders, secured our client a balance sheet loan with very favorable terms, and closed the deal within the contract period.
We are not the only mortgage broker our client works with, but when they have a problematic property, need a specific rate, or have a difficult closing – we are their go-to provider.
After doing business for more than a decade, we have built more than just a client-provider relationship. When the opportunity arises, we break bread and catch up. Our clients are more than a transaction – they are our extended family.

We create a comprehensive and transparent loan package that uncovers risks and highlights strengths. By addressing weaknesses at the beginning of the deal process, we can mitigate many issues that can derail a deal later.
We present the loan package to lenders that best suit the client’s goals. We create a competitive environment where lenders compete for the loan opportunity, helping secure the best possible terms. Our process ensures prompt attention from lenders – gaining faster and more accurate terms.
Once the client selects a program, we handle the heavy lifting – scheduling 3rd parties, starting the legal prep work, and working through the due diligence process. We provide regular updates on the loan’s progress, answer questions, and ensure a seamless loan transaction.
